On 6th July 2009, HFES-UQ members embarked on their first field trip to the Skills Development Centre (SDC) at the Royal Brisbane Hospital. Our host was Dr Marcus Watson, Director of the Centre.

The SDC is one of most technologically advanced and comprehensive skills development centres in the world. It covers over 3500sqm, with 26 session rooms, laboratories, and a fully-

functional operating theatre and hospital ward.
